Promote to front page shows up when nodes won't be shown on the front page

criticality:
Minor
Drupal7:
Open
This happened to:

When the default front page isn't used, "Promote to front page" is completely inaccurate.

Implications:

This field is used in views and RSS listings, not just for the front page.

Solution:
Remove the option when the default page isn't the front page. Or rename it to "promote to main content listing" or similar.

Ordering of fieldsets becomes more important with vertical tabs patch

criticality:
Moderate
Drupal7:
Open

The order of the default vertical tabs doesn't make sense. On the node add form the create revision tab appears first. If/when this patch goes in we need to rethink the default order of fieldsets provided by core.

User expected cancel button on edit forms

Minor

This happened to:

The user consistently wanted cancel buttons when editing forms. This appears to be due to expectations introduced from previous CMS experience (Joomla)

No easy way to link to a node from menu module

criticality:
Critical
Drupal7:
Open
This happened to:

Users went to admin/build/menu to add links to nodes - but are presented with a path field.

They wanted to be presented with a list of content on the site so they could create menu items pointing to them.

The only way to add a menu link is to go back to the content, copy the URL from the address bar, go back to admin/build/menu and paste it in.

Implications:

Would need to have lists of users, nodes, views etc. - can't have just one list.

Solution:
Show path for the item on node/n/edit? Select widget in add menu item form for choosing nodes.

User thought field under body were less important

criticality:
Minor
Drupal7:
Open
This happened to:

After adding a vocabulary to a content type, the user was surprised it showed up above the page body. They thought since it was less important than body, that it should be placed below it.
